Tendwet Primary School pupils in Kuresoi South, escaped unhurt when a strong wind blew off the roof of their classrooms on Friday.
The accident took place at around 3PM when lessons were going on.
Speaking to journalists, the Deputy headteacher, Mrs Betty, confirmed the incidence and saying that no one was injured even though two classrooms had their roofs completely destroyed.
"Class eight and seven classrooms were blown off. The flying roof landed in other classrooms partly destroying them too. Thankfully, no one was injured," she said.
She appealed to Kuresoi South leaders and wellwishers to help in reconstruction of the destroyed classrooms to ensure learning continues uninterrupted.
Jane Wanjiru, one of the villager who lives next to the school, confirmed hearing a loud bang before she saw a flying iron sheet being carried by wind towards her compound.
"The flying iron sheet landed on those electricity cables and something like lighting appeared. I remember screaming and running into my house for safety," the shaken Wanjiru said.
