Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has told the Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to shelve his gubernatorial ambition and relinquish his seat for her.
Ndeti said the governor should give up the fight and concentrate in his 2022 presidential ambition if the Supreme Court rules his petition in her favor.
She said Mutua should take this time to engage in presidential campaigns and hunt for votes across the country without baggage or responsibility.
Ndeti spoke at Vyulya in Mwala Sub County on Sunday.
"I'm not interested in the presidency but Mutua is, he should shelve his gubernatorial ambition and pursue the presidency after all that seems to be his priority," Ndeti said.
She said just like Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, she too would make a good governor.
Ndeti expressed confidence that she will carry the day if a by-election is held, noting that the Court of Appeal's Friday verdict on was a clear indication she will pull through.
"Women too can make good leaders. Look at Ngilu, she's an exemplary leader. If I thrive in the by-election, I will follow in her footsteps and that of Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana who has proven that devolution is real in order to deliver to Machakos people,", Ndeti said.
