According to Maangi, such personal political interests has hindered development in the region.

Maangi was speaking on Wednesday at Gusii stadium during the celebrations of Madaraka Day and said leaders were elected to do development and not otherwise.

“We were elected as Gusii leaders to do development and we need to do so, time for politics will come but for now let us do development first,” said Maangi.

He also challenged them to desist from hate speech that can incite residents to create enmity to other leaders.

Maangi promised to work with leaders and asked Kisii county MPs to join the county government in spearheading development.

“Am always in need to see all leaders work together as a team to develop our region let us join to benefit our resident's through development," said Maangi.
