Highly-spirited Belgian, Paul Put faces his first test during this year’s CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup when his charges, Harambee Stars will descend against the Amavumbi of Rwanda in the opening match amid anxiety for good results after team Kenya failed to stamp their authority in key qualifiers this season.
Put, 61 says he fell in love with Kenyan football for having produced a few international players who have been featured in international football especially in Serie A, English Premier League, and French League and his mission is to steer the team to greater heights.
Kenya is up against Tanzania, Rwanda, Libya, and Zanzibar in the group stages.
All eyes are glued to him on whether he will guide Kenya in the crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Kenyans will certainly be longing for some of these results, especially the 2019 Africa Nations Cup qualification involving Sierra Leone, Ghana and Ethiopia ongoing. Put takes charge of the team immediately after agreeing to a two-year deal with Football Kenya Federation FKF which made the announcement on Saturday afternoon at its fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at English Point Marina. The coach maintains that all that he needs is support from Football fraternity.
