Nyalenda residents in Kisumu have demanded that a police post be put in the area.
Lead by their area Member of County Assembly James Were, the residents said that the area has suffered from high insecurity for a very long time.
The Nyalenda ‘B’ representative noted that the police only patrol in the area once every night.
Speaking to this writer from his ward office yesterday, Were said that most thugs normally break into houses after the regular police patrols have been done.
He petitioned the County Commander Nelson Njiiri and area OCPD Musa Kongoli to look into ways through which police post could be put in Nyalenda.
His Nyalenda ‘A’ counterpart Jackton Onunga also reiterated on the same saying that residents in the area are living in fear from the frequent attacks starting from as early as eight o’clock in the night.
“The residents keep flocking our offices demanding that we address the current insecurity menace.
We are asking the county government to allocate funds towards the building of police posts in the wards.
The County Commander should assign police to the various police posts that have been built by the county government,” said Onunga.
