Despite being home to some of the best football talents in the country, the coastal region has continuously been overlooked during the composition of the national soccer team Harambee Stars squad for various assignments. It is this trend that officials from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) from the South Coast region now want to be addressed by Star's head coach Paul Put who recently took over the mantle from his current deputy Stanley Okumbi.Led by the branch's CEO Sumba Bwire, the officials on Saturday asked Put to consider the region saying it was a hub of great talent."Coast region has been home to budding talent since time immemorial. There are several players whose sublime skills have escaped the attention of the coach. We welcome the national team head coach Pau Put tp come and watch the FKF south coast mini league so that he can see for himself the abundant talents that we have here," Bwire said. There was uproar especially from a section of the Bandari Fc fans after none of the club's players made it to Harambee Stars squad for the Cecafa senior challenge bonanza which the team nonetheless proceeded to win.
