Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Nakuru town, Wachira Maina, the Director of Highchem Agriculture told the farmers that his company has prepared enough seeds to all the farmers in the region.

“I guarantee you that Highchem, together with the Department of Agriculture in Nakuru County has prepared enough seeds to all the farmers. We want to ensure that the farmers will not blame us for lack of seeds,” said Maina.

Maina went ahead and told the farmers that they will get all the necessary assistance and information concerning pyrethrum farming without paying any fee.

“We want the farmers to increase their yields so that they can also increase their income from pyrethrum farming. This is why we are advising them to ensure that they all reserve enough space for pyrethrum farming ahead of the near April rains,” added maina.

He further told the farmers who had threatened not to plant pyrethrum again to change their decision, since the government had already put in place enough measures to ensure that they improve the farming of the plant.

“The government has already shown great interest and also provided enough signs to show us that they are fully committed in helping the farmers and also in improving the market industry for pyrethrum,” he added.
