More than 60 people have been arrested in Nairobi for operating pharmaceuticals and chemists illegally.
The Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) said that most of the pharmacies had been operating without licenses for a while.
The staff of the pharmaceuticals are said to lack the adequate training on the handling of drugs.
Nairobi Senior Inspector for Drugs Julius Kalai said the board is targeting all the illegally operating chemists.
“Majority of those netted were in Kariobangi South, Dandora, Kangemi and Kariobangi North where most faulty premises were found. And most of the faulty premises were being manned by professionals,” he said.
During the crackdown, two people were arrested and taken to the Kasarani police station.
