[Photo|Daily Nation]IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said actual figures from 267 constituencies showed that 6,553,858 Kenyans turned out to vote in the fresh presidential election. He clarified the issue after he had announced that a total of 48 per cent voters turned up for voting countrywide."The 48% was a best estimate turnout from the team. Latest actual figures from 267 constituencies show 6,553,858 Kenyans turned out to vote," Chebukati said Thursday evening. This means that the total number of 19,611,423 registered voters is 33.4 per cent. However figures being displayed on TV screens as votes each presidential candidate received has raised more questions on social media. The figures indicated that presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta had garnered more votes, more than the cast votes. His rivals had also garnered votes as at 10 am Saturday, exceeding the voter turnout as indicated below.1. Uhuru Kenyatta - 7,370,2462. Ekuru Aukot -20,5163. Abduba Dida -14,4014. Japheth Kaluyu -8,0955. Michael Mwaura - 5,8406. Joe Nyagah - 5,4147. Cyrus Jirongo - 3,6778. Raila Odinga - 72,082The figures contradict Chebukati's voter turnout given that during hourly updates at the Bomas of Kenya, IEBC also announced number of rejected votes.During the August elections, voter turnout was 15,073,662, which translates to 78.91 per cent.
