Kenyans have waded into a debate on why First Lady Margaret Kenyatta was absent when President Uhuru Kenyatta met women leaders at State House.
The soft spoken Margret Kenyatta was conspicuously missing in the meeting.
According to African culture, it is a bid deal for a man to host female guests and the wife fails to show up.
It is expected that the wife should host female guests for her husband even if the contents of the meeting is none of her business.
“Statehouse is like her home, and it was not proper for her like the woman of the house to be absent when the husband played host to us.
“In fact, it should have been the first lady calling the shots,” a local paper quoted a woman who attended the meeting.
