Trans Nzoia governor Patrick Khaemba’s wife is said to have been bullied during his swearing in.
According to the Star, men approached Rose Khaemba while she was in her seat and told to leave the venue.
"We have been given orders that you should get off this seat and find another place to sit," one of the men says in a recording seen by the Star.
The paper further reports that there was an exchange words between the two parties with Rose demanding to know who sent the men.
"I am also a Kenyan and a Trans Nzoian. No Kenyan should harass a fellow Kenyan," she tells them.
Khaemba’s swearing in was conducted at the Kitale ASK grounds.
She is said to have been bullied by the men who threatened to carry her if she didn't leave.
"I am the Trans Nzoia county First Lady. The only person who has the authority to give me orders is Governor Khaemba," she says.
During the incident police officers nearby watched without intervening.
The incident occurred before governor Khaemba arrived at the venue.
During the function, a Star newspaper journalist is said to have been roughed up.
