Former President Mwai Kibaki managed to vote at Munaini Primary School in Othaya constituency on Tuesday.

Earlier reports had indicated that Kibaki was turned away from the polling station as his lacked from the voters register.

Kibaki, arrived minutes after the stipulated official 5pm closing time.

He was welcomed at the polling station by Lands PS Nicolas Muraguri and Nyeri county commissioner Karuku Ngumo.

There were earlier reports that his name had been missing in the BVR machine hence the delay.

His aides were seen at the station twice in the day with his ID card.

Kibaki did not speak to the media after voting.
