President Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again attacked the Judiciary, accusing the Supreme Court of subverting the will of Kenyans after the August 8 election was nullified.

According to the president, the court did not consider the evidence provide by the electoral commission during the case.

He further termed their decision as a ‘judiciary coup’, which took away his win and subsequently the will of the people.

“The presidential election was not nullified on the assumption that there were irregularities in the election result forms,” he said.

He added; “It is now manifestly clear that despite the fact that relevant forms had already been deposited in court by IEBC, no proper scrutiny or verification ever took place, which would have otherwise brought the court to the inescapable conclusion that the election result of the August 8 election was indeed valid,” he said.

“How a decision of that magnitude was made without examination of some of the most crucial documents is, indeed, incredibly startling,” the President said.

The president seemed to agree with Njoki Ndung’u’s raised questions before the court on why the presidential results should be allowed to stand, the disputed Forms 34A used to declare the outcome were proper.

“What then happens to this judgment made on the basis of falsified documents?” the President questioned

The decision by the court was met by harsh criticism from different quarters, with the Jubilee Party led by the president and his deputy feeling hard done.
