Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan has now asked Wiper defectors to be 'honourable' and seek a fresh mandate from the people.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen's Power Breakfast on Thursday, Omar said their decision to punish the defectors was in line with the constitution adding the party has no ill intentions in the move.
"Be honourable enough to seek a fresh mandate from the people," said Omar who is the Wiper secretary general.
"It is not about whether the process bears fruits or not, it is about upholding the law," he added.
The Mombasa County governor hopeful told the defectors to prepare for a mini-poll in February.
He warned the rebels that the elections will show them that they had not moved to Jubilee Party with the voters and was confident they will not be re-elected.
"We want them to prepare for a mini-election in February. We are going to prove to them that they did not move the grounds but they have only taken their bodies without content," he said.
His remarks come after the party resolved to punish Wiper defectors.
