Borabu MP Ben Momanyi believes that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka should quit Cord and go alone in the 2017 presidential elections.

Momanyi’s remarks come after opposition chief Raila Odinga insisted that the coalition was intact and that it would choose its flag bearer on a popular initiative contrary to Kalonzo’s suggestion that the three co-principals reach a mutual agreement.

Speaking in his Borabu backyard on Monday, the Wiper MP accused ODM of allegedly shortchanging its coalition partners and challenged his party leader to move on.

“I think my party leader should learn that his fate was sealed long ago. We have been silent but I think time has come to speak. ODM takes us for granted and I don’t see our presence being appreciated in the coalition,” he said.

“You heard them saying they will pick a presidential candidate based on a popular initiative yet we are running out of time. That is a delay tactic to make us continue being flower girls. As Wiper, we should move on and try it on our own,” he said.

He, however, never ruled out the possibility of the Wiper party having a round table meeting with its partners to discuss the best way forward that could help topple Jubilee from power.
