A section of governors allied with the Jubilee Party have challenged NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to quit politics.
Led by Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago and his Nandi counterpart Stephen Sang, the County chiefs accused Raila of creating political uncertainty and failing to respect the will of the people.
Speaking in separate events, the governors further claimed that the former premier was keen to ensure that he plunges the country into a political crisis so that he can be part of a 'nusu-mkate' government.
"He cannot have his way always. He fears defeat. The best thing is for him to give up so that Uhuru takes charge," Governor Sang noted.
"Raila is always claiming his victory has been stolen come election time. He is not a democrat and should in fact quit politics and let the country move on if he cannot accept the will of the people through the ballot,” he added.
On his part, governor Mandago dared NASA to make good of their threats to boycott the elections.
"Kenyans will have to vote as announced by the IEBC. If NASA does not want the election, let them keep off,” he said.
NASA leaders have on several occasions threatened to boycott the repeat elections scheduled for October 26 until a number of key demands bordering electoral reforms are met.
