"The best thing for Obure to do is to exit politics. He will be humiliated in 2017 if he goes for the governors' seat," Nyamweya who has declared his interest in the county gubernatorial seat was quoted by the Star.

Speaking on Sunday in Kisii while popularising the Kenya National Congress party which he wants to use to vie for the top seat, Nyamweya challenged Obure to show people what he has done for them during the 40 years he has been in politics.

"I have heard him promising new leadership, he has been in politics for 40 years and served as a cabinet minister, what has he not done that he wants to do now?," Nyamweya added.

Mr Obure who is spearheading the Omogusii unity has not declared his interest for the gubernatorial position. However, members of the caucus group want to field him to face the incumbent Governor James Ongwae who Nyamweya says has not done enough for the community since he came into office.
