A section of Jubilee leaders from Kitui county on Sunday urged Nasa leader Raila Odinga to quit the presidential race for good saying his continued quest was holding the country hostage.

According to Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai and former Mwingi West parliamentary aspirant Mwende Mwinzi, it is time Odinga exited the political stage saying his continued efforts to become president had proved futile and was on the contrary affecting the daily activities in the country.

The duo added that the demonstrations that have been called by the former prime minister and his coalition were hurting the economy by disrupting the normal cycle of activities in the country.

"Odinga should reconsider his quest to become president since it has proved futile. He should consider quitting the whole thing," Nyamai said.

They were speaking at Kyamboo AIC Church during the national prayer day.

Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka withdrew their candidatures for the October 26 repeat polls citing inability of the poll agency to address their demands and have resorted to calling for protests from their supporters against the IEBC.
