While addressing residents along Mombasa road en-route Taita Taveta during the party's rally on Friday, the 2016 Dignitary Man of Africa publicly told off the senator to avoid politics dismantling the unity of leaders in wiper and other parties in the Kamba region.

“I’m the one who holds the vision for this party, and I don’t want any of my votes to get lost. We should not castigate other parties, but rather bring them together to serve a common goal. Muungano isn’t Jubilee,” Kalonzo said.

This comes in the wake of Muthama's  blatant attack on Makueni County governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana of purporting to support Kalonzo Musyoka for the presidency. Muthama had asked the governor to do away with his party, Muungano Party, and let Wiper party enjoy the stronghold.

Muthama alongside his Kitui counterpart David Musila who double's as Wiper's chairman, have been on the forefront in fighting other emerging parties in Ukambani region.

Kibwana’s Muungano party which enjoys massive support and growing popularity, especially in the vote-rich Makueni County is the most challenged alongside Governor Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap which has gathered speed in Machakos county.
