Kilifi residents have been urged to visit the County Lands Registry, for tittle deeds.
Governor Amason Kingi indicated, the documents belonging to Kaliang'ombe/Jimba adjudication section in Rabai Kisurutini, were being held at the offices, after a meeting to meet Lands Ministry officials over the same bounced.
"The title deeds are now being held at the Kilifi Lands Registry. I therefore urge the beneficiaries to pick their titles with haste from the Kilifi Lands Registry," Kingi said.
He noted that his government was keen on resolving the land question in Kilifi, despite planning, surveying and resolving boundary disputes.
"Since inception, my government has planned and surveyed over 40,000 plots and forwarded all the requisite documents to the national government for purposes of processing the title deeds. Unfortunately the national government has been very slow in processing title deeds," revealed Kingi.
In a communication, Tuesday, he urged the national government to move with speed to enable the people of Kilifi acquire title deeds to their lands.
"The inordinate delay we have witnessed from the national government in this exercise is unacceptable. I wonder why the people of Kilifi should wait until a cabinet minister or PS to travel all the way from Nairobi to Kilifi for them to be issued with their title Deeds. If at all the Jubilee government is genuine in their intentions, let them allow the officers on the ground to do this work," he added.
