Former National Social Security Fund boss Fred Rabong'o has returned the ODM party, barely two years after decamping to little-known National Agenda Party in the run to the Homa Bay Senatorial by-elections.
Rabong'o lost the seat to Senator Moses Kajwang and has promised to give the youthful Kajwang a run for his money in 2017.
"The party leadership has promised aspirants free and fair nomination. I am happy this time the ticket will go to the winners," Rabong'o said on Friday when donating costumes and music instruments to Luo Traditional dancers at Ndiru chief's camp in Rangwe constituency.
Philip Okundi was also among the aspirants who quit the party in December 2014 when youth disrupted the party's nomination exercise and the Raila Odinga-led outfit party settled on Moses Kajwang.
This now means that Kajwang will have to go back to the drawing board to ensure he defends the seat.
