Raila who is the ODM party leader is backing his candidate, Aisha Jumwa, who is leaving her Woman Representative post, to unseat Malindi ODM MP, Willy Mtengo, after losing in April Party primaries.
During Sunday's Nasa campaign rally of the region in Malindi, Raila asked residents to vote for Jumwa, who is a staunch ODM member.
This is after Ford Kenya party leader, Bungoma senator, Wetangula, endorsed Jumwa, asking Malindi electorates to vote for her, because she was one of the best performing, and a loyal MP, to the Nasa alliance.
"What I am asking you is that you vote for Jumwa. Will you vote for her?" Wetangula asked the crowd, he was addressing.
"Please vote for her because she is one of the best that we have. I know she will work for you diligently," he added.
However, on his part, Kalonzo who is the Wiper Party Leader, appeared to defend his party candidate, Rashid Odhiambo.
He asked residents to vote for him or whoever they think will diligently work for them, adding that Wiper had left the gubernatorial post, for ODM (incumbent Amason Kingi), and so other seats should also be won by his party.
"We left the governor post for our brother, so those other seats, let's compete. So ODM has Jumwa and as you know, we have Rashid. I can't say vote for who, but please don't let Wiper down," said Kalonzo, amid cheers from the crowd.
