Even before the IEBC declares the official campaign period, aspirants for the gubernatorial seat are already doing the ground work of mobilizing supporters for the upcoming 2017 general elections.
Already Kinuthia Mbugua has declared an interest to defend his seat and will have to face strong opposition from other contestants who have declared publicly they will run for the position. They include Chairman for NACADA John Mututho and NTSA Chairman Lee Kinyanjui.
Senator James Mungai and Rev. Lawrence Bomet are also reportedly in the race. More are also expected to come up
Some of the challenges the aspirants will have to deal with are the issue of party nominations and choosing a favorable running mate.
For sure the race will give a number of aspirants some sleepless nights.
