Thika Parliamentary seat aspirant Patrick Wainaina has received a major boost in his quest to send incumbent Alice Ng'ang’a packing in the forthcoming August 8th general election.

On Wednesday, a section of traders along with the business community under the Thika Business Community Forum umbrella vowed to endorse Wainaina’s bid on August 8th.According to the traders, Wainaina has the potential of revamping Thika’s business sector.The traders claimed that the business environment in the constituency favors certain indivuals. “We want a leader who will champion for our interests without discrimination and also market the constituency as a business hub” said Joseph Mbuthia the forum’s secretary general.The traders said that the area has been grappling with insecurity, poor business facilities and alleged harassment from county officials.Speaking to the traders, Wainaina who is also the Jungle Nut Chief Executive Officer (CEO) pledged to push for the interests of the business community.“My key agenda if elected will be to guarantee security of traders and the larger business community, he said as quoted by People Daily.The MP hopeful also pledged to construct modern markets for traders across the constituency.Wainaina is contesting as an independent candidate after losing the Jubilee Party nomination.The Jungle Nut CEO says that he has the numbers to beat Ng'ang'a.Ng’ang’a on the other hand has exuded confidence of winning another term on ground that she has delivered development for locals.
