Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop popularly referred to as Buzeki has picked Samson Kipkosgei Cheruiyot as his running mate.
This puts to an end anxiety that has been sorrounding the bussines mogul's camp over who will be his deputy.
According to a post on Buzeki's social media platform, Cheruiyot is currently working at the Kisii university, Eldoret campus."Dear great residents of Uasin Gishu County, it is with great pleasure that I officially introduce to you my running mate, Mr. Samson Kipkosgei Cheruiyot. Samson is a holder of a BScN from the University of Eastern Africa Baraton, as well as a MSN from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He serves among the faculty at Kisii University, Eldoret Campus. Together, we will work to restore our beautiful county's glory as the True Home Of Champions!," read the statement on Facebook.
Reports indicate that Cheruiyot hails from Turbo Sub-county and his choice as a running mate to Buzeki was a bid to ensure regional balance.
Ethnicity also played a key role in the running mate mathematics as Cheruiyot comes from the populous Nandi community while Buzeki is from the Keiyo Community, the second most populous community in the county.Area governor Jackson Mandago has opted to retain Daniel Chemno, from Keiyo cimmunity as his deputy while another aspirant Dr Edward Serem also picked a woman as the running mate from Keiyo community, Eng Pauline Chemutai Olbara.
