Father to former Nairobi women-rep Rachel Shebesh has died.

Samuel Wainaina Mbugua, who is also a former Nairobi mayor, died in a hospital in Nairobi Wednesday evening.

He hailed from Kariua, Murang'a county.

The late Mbugua will be remembered for spearheading the setting up of estates like Uhuru, Kimathi, Harambee, Kariobangi South, and Umoja through an affordable long-term loan structure with the World Bank.
