After Agnes Macharia narrated her plight to Kameme FM, listeners raised a sum of Sh2 million via Mpesa to help her.

The morning radio show is hosted by Njogu wa Njoroge.

Ms Macharia said she took a loan to buy the matatu, and was really struggling to repay it.

She said the matatu was her source of livelihood.

The radio host is said to have launched the fundraiser during his concert at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday that attracted more than 10,000 fans.

Monday, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria stated that Jubilee allied MPs had contributed Sh1 million to support Ms Macharia.

Ms Macharia through Matatu Owners Association has sued Cord leaders for the damage and is seeking compensation.

The case will be heard on June 20, 2016.
