There has been outrage in Baringo and the rest of the country after bandits killed a school boy in Baringo North.

This is after a Class seven boy was on Saturday shot dead by suspected Pokot bandits just a day before President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to the sub-County.

17-year-old Chelang’a Chebor from Boyuro Primary School was killed as he herded his family's cattle at Chepkesin.

According to Kissumet Sub-location Assistant Chief Joshua Kiptosok, Chebor was in the accompany of five other boys when the incident happened.

"There was a fierce exchange of fire among the bandits, Police and Kenya Police Reservist before overpowering the (officers). They made away with over 50 head of cattle," Keitany said as quoted by the Star.

In the same area, a chief was shot dead earlier in February as Deputy President William Ruto visited the region.
