The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has termed 2016 as a ‘bad’ year for the Maa community following the deaths of two of its great leaders.

Two most outstanding Maasai leaders; William ole Ntimama and John Keen, died in a duration of three months with the former dying in September while the latter passed on in December.

Speaking on Friday during Keen’s funeral, Raila said the community would find a suitable person to replace the two politicians.

“This year (2016) has been a bad one for Maasai’s. Losing two big trees (Ntimama and Keen) makes even the branches shake a little bit,” he said amid laughter’s.

“I know you will someday find a good replacement for the two. The interest of the Maasai community and the national level will not stall just because they have left us,” he added.

Raila also narrated his close relationship with the former Kajiado North MP terming him as Pan Africanist of all times.
