Party leader Raila Odinga in a Wednesday meeting blasted the legislators for making public their concerns, instead of following the party guidelines.

Odinga told Namwamba to always table his grievances instead of going public.

“We have discussed a number of issues of interests to the party. But there will be another meeting later,” Odinga told the press after the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by MPs Paul Otuoma (Funyula) and John Waluke (Sirisia), who have both sided with Namwamba amid criticism from party leaders and members.

“This is a party that has lost elections twice for making obvious mistakes. We must show our members that we are able to do things differently. We must fix things or we get fixed,” Otuoma said.

He added: “When we raise some of this issues no one should tell us we are doing so because of Governor Ojaamong (Sospeter). There is nothing special about the governor. He is a product of negotiated democracy anyway.”

The MPs had accused ODM of sidelining legislators from Western Kenya.

Namwamba in an interview also revealed his frustrations as ODM secretary general for the 18 months he has been in office.
