After Siaya Senator said on Saturday that Raila is the best bet in 2022 general elections, the Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya now says the ODM party leader Raila Odinga has accepted to support his 2022 Presidential bid.
Speaking during a Television interview on Wednesday 9, Oparanya said clearly that on Tuesday 8, during the ODM retreat held in Naivasha, he asked Raila to support his presidential bid, which he espoused. However, Raila gave him a condition with which he (Oparanya) must adhere to, if he wanted his support. He told Oparanya to make sure he wins the ODM nominations to acclaim his support."I will support whoever wins the ODM nominations. I have sought support from Raila even in Yesterday's event at Naivasha and he promised to support me if I win the ODM nominations." Oparanya said.On Saturday, Siaya Senator James Orengo accompanied Raila to Migori, where he did say that Raila stands to be their best bet. That, he still had a mission to accomplish. However, Raila retaliated by reprimanding Orengo's words firmly saying the handshake is aimed at reinstating peace in the country.Oparanya said he is not afraid of other ODM members who want Raila to vie for the presidency in the next elections. His presidential bid stands. This led to weird speculations altogether."I am not scared by Orengo's words. Raila is our party leader and has a right to vie." Oparanya added.
