The five; Timothy Bosire(Kitutu Masaba), Junet Mohammed (Suna East), Aisha Juma(Kilifi), Florence Mutua(Busia) and Senator Johnstone Muthama of Machakos are due to be charged over hate speech on Friday in Mlimani law courts.

But Nyamira County Assembly Deputy Minority Leader Ken Atuti on Friday accused Mr Odinga of promoting anarchy in the country and warned of possible violence if the Cord leaders continue to disobey the rule of law.

“I am shocked that Mr Odinga who understands the rule of law can go ahead and put the country on tension over individuals held for alleged hate speech. The law is very clear because police arrested the MPs without necessarily targeting a certain coalition,” he said.

“The court agreed to the prosecution request that all MPs in question to remain in custody for four days to allow investigations and so it’s shocking why Mr Odinga continues to interfere with the judiciary, yet he understands that it should remain independent. He is creating a situation of anarchy and time has come for him to respect the rule of law,” he said.

He challenged the former Prime Minister to ‘reduce’ political temperatures ahead of 2017 polls saying they are not good for a growing democracy.

“Kenya is a growing democracy and its institutions should be respected. It’s important that Mr Odinga reduces political temperatures in the country by respecting independent institutions,” he added urging Kenyans to live in harmony.
