Opposition chief Raila Odinga has accused the ruling Jubilee coalition of theft, resisting devolution and failing to honour their campaign promises made to Kenyans just before the 2013 elections.
Speaking at Bongwe Primary School in Ukunda, Raila lamented that the government had forgotten the common mwananchi the moment they took power.
He was accompanied by Msambweni lawmaker Suleiman Dori, his Malindi counterpart Willy Mtengo and Kilifi Women representative Aisha Jumwa in their mission to strengthen his influence at the coast.
Raila further said that he could not betray the region and asked the locals to support the Cord coalition as it was best placed to resolve their problems.
Raila who enjoyed massive support and votes from the region in the last polls has recently seen some of his ODM members cross the floor to the Jubilee coalition and vowed to work with the ruling government to ensure that their people enjoy the benefits coming from the state.
Raila is however keen to maintain his support in the region for political benefits in the 2017 general elections.
