Speaking during a brief meeting with the press at the Orange Democratic Movement head quarters in Nairobi on Tuesday, the former premier confirmed the fact that he and Mudavadi have been in contact but did not disclose the details.

This comes after the committee mandated by Cord to make proposals on how to appoint the block's presidential flag bearer gave among 3 others Musalia Mudavadi as a possible ally to bring back more of the western region support instead of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.

The two leaders were best of political friends with Mudavadi being rewarded the Deputy Prime Minister post when Raila rose to premiership in the 2008 coalition government.

However, they parted ways just before the 2013 elections with Mudavadi opting to take a shot at the presidency on his own and Raila replacing him with Mr Wetangula.

Raila and Mudavadi have been lately touted to have a common opinion on national matters with the most recent being their condemnation of the Jubilee merger.
