The latest arrest of former Nairobi governor aspirant Miguna Miguna has furthered the already frosty relationship between Jubilee government and the opposition.
Miguna was arrested on Friday morning by people believed to be members of the dreaded Flying Squad and detained at Githunguri Police Station in Kiambu.
However, the decision to detain him in an area where President Uhuru Kenyatta enjoys mass following has been criticised by top Raila advisor Salim Lone.
In a post on his Facebook page, Raila spokesperson Salim Lone questioned why Miguna had not been released even after a court order had been issued.
"He had been moved, for inexplicable reasons, to a police station in Githunguri, in Kiambu County which is President Uhuru Kenyatta's birthplace and stronghold and where there is strong hostility to NASA and its officials like Miguna. He was going to have been released there at a time when locals were holding an anti-NASA protest there and burning tyres. Miguna might not have been safe there. This is playing with fire," he said.
Dr. Miguna is one of the key NASA lawyers who played part in Raila Odinga's Tuesday 'swearing-in' ceremony.
