Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu has accused National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi and Minority Whip Junet Mohammed of wrecking the unity of Opposition coalition NASA.
Speaking on Tuesday, the Ford Kenya Secretary General claimed that the two ODM lawmakers were behind NASA's deteriorating ties.
Mbadi and Junet are said to have micromanaged the process of appointment of MPs to leadership of House Committees.
“ODM is failing to consult, especially in the National Assembly where if the Minority leader and the Minority whip are going to live on their own, they are going to break up the coalition,” Simiyu said.
His sentiments were reiterated by ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka, who asserted that ODM's failure to consult with other NASA coalition partners could cripple the outfit's unity.
“A coalition is not about one party taking everything and others are supposed to escort them, to clap and to do public relations talks," he said.
NASA's unity has come under sharp focus in recent times, amid internal wrangles within the coalition itself.
Political pundits who have weighed in on the matter have also cast doubts on NASA, with some granting that the outfit will not hold together for long.
