National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has initiated a plan aimed at protecting political rights. The movement has been called the Truth and Electoral Justice Campaign.
Odinga spoke during the swearing-in ceremony of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his deputy William Kingi.
“We refuse to give up in our pursuit for justice in this country,” said Raila.
Raila went on to laud Joho following his re-election and acknowledged Mombasa residents who turned up in large numbers to vote for him.
He further spoke to the victims of police assault during the post-election violence and chastised the acts.
Governor Hassan Joho assured locals that he would create jobs, empower the youth.
He went on to assure Raila that the people of Mombasa will continue to support him in his endeavors while calling on them to remain peaceful.
“We remain loyal to the course and I assure my party leader that county government of Mombasa is all yours.” Joho said.
