His absence did not go unnoticed considering that he is the only ODM MP in the county.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga chided the MP’s absence through his famous riddles (vitendawili). He said Arama is ‘a lost sheep’ and asked him to ‘come back to his father.’

"I am asking all those who are lost to come home where they will be safe. The Jubilee coalition will swallow them," said Raila.

On the other hand, Embakasi MP Irshad Sumra who attended the rally asked Arama to resign as an ODM MP instead of dividing ODM supporters.

"We are telling him to resign before the next elections if he really wants to leave ODM. We also want Arama to stop creating disturbance in our party," Sumra said.

Arama told this writer that he did not see the need to attend the rally.

"I didn’t see the need of attending the rally. I want to be in union with the people whose aim is to bring development to this country," he said.
