Tharaka Nithi County Governor Muthomi Njuki has said that it will be ‘mocking’ God to allow NASA Chiefs Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to take oath of office using the holy book but instead said they can use stones or other books.

Speaking in Chuka Town, the governor said that the country is still polarized and the path the opposition coalition leaders are taking is not right and therefore they should not use the Bible to swear.

“I am calling on the leaders talking about swearing in that they should leave the Bible out of it. If you want to be sworn-in in the style this man (Raila Odinga) wants to be sworn in, then you should do so in a room carrying a stone or anything else,” Njuki said as quoted on Radio Citizen.

He said that the move is ‘sinful’ and as such the use of the Bible will show how much the NASA leaders are out to ‘mock’ God.

“Using a Bible for such sinful things can even kill, because that is like mocking God,” he added.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has continued with its push to have its leaders sworn in as President and the Deputy President of the People’s Assembly on January 30th.
