Garissa Township MP Aden Duale wants NASA leaders to halt their political campaigns in honour of the late Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery.
Duale says that it disrespectful for NASA leaders to continue campaigning when the country is mourning Nkaissery’s untimely death.
The National Assembly leader of Majority says that the late Interior CS deserves respect for the service he had rendered to Kenyans.
“Raila and his troops should discontinue their campaigns and join other Kenyans in mourning the late Joseph Nkaissery ,”he said on Saturday.
The Garissa Township MP said that Jubilee has halted its campaigns in respect of Nkaissery.
Nkaissery died on Friday night at Karen hospital in Nairobi.
According to media reports, the late Interior CS developed chest problems at his Karen home and was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The government and the family are expected to issue an official report on the former CS's sudden death.
A section of politicians across the divide and Kenyans at large continue to condole and eulogize Nkaissery.
NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga in his condolence message described Nkaissery as a true patriotic who served the country without favour or discrimination.
Raila said that though he and other opposition politicians had differences with the late CS, their issues were never personal.
The opposition presidential flag bearer said that NASA will continue with its campaigns adding that they will be holding a moment of silence in honour of the late Interior CS.
