Kenyans on social media have trolled President Uhuru Kenyatta following a New Year message that he posted on Twitter.
With a similar post by his bitter rival Raila Odinga gaining more reactions than Uhuru's, a section of Borabu Watchtower WhatsApp group used the message to measure popularity of the two leaders.
"This is an indication that Raila has always been a popular leader. Furthermore, most of comments on his post are positive," said Evans Nyayiemi.
Sam Omosa added: "A president who even loses on Twitter is unfit to govern. We have put him where he belongs."
While social media reactions cannot be used to ascertain popularity of a leader, Uhuru's New Year message was ordinarily expected to have much more reaction than Raila's.
With the two having faced each other in August elections, Raila boycotted October repeat polls citing lack of reforms in electoral body IEBC.
Until now, the veteran leader is yet to recognize Uhuru as duly elected president of Kenya.
In the posts, Raila managed 268 comments to Uhuru's 262 while number of Retweets also favoured Raila (562) to Uhuru's (291) by Sunday mid-night.
