Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has said Cord leader Raila Odinga is better placed to defeat Jubilee in 2017.
Mr Oparanya said Mr Odinga has massive support across the country to enable him clinch the presidency.
Oparanya was speaking in Vihiga during Raila's first day of his five-day tour of the Western region.
"No one wields the power to unseat Jubilee than Raila," he said.
"Come 2017, we all rally our support behind him, and ensure he goes to State House.
Mr Odinga kick-started his five-day tour of the Western region on Monday in Vihiga.
He will visit Busia on Wednesday and Thursday before winding the tour in Kakamega on Friday.
He is in the region to stem increasing ODM party rebellion following the resignation of Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba and his Funyula counterpart Paul Otwoma from their respective party positions.
