Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s push for six-piece voting in Ukambani has borne fruits after NASA presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, endorsed Wiper candidate Patrick Makau for the Mavoko MP ahead of the August general elections.

Speaking at Athi River Stadium, Raila asked ODM candidate to abandon his parliamentary ambition in return for a job offer if opposition wins the forthcoming polls.

The move is aimed at avoiding fallout between ODM and Wiper candidate in the region as the opposition seeks to dethrone President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from power.

Raila, who is taking a stab at the presidency for the fourth time, said that he does not expect division among the political parties forming the alliance.

“Kalonzo Musyoka na mimi ni kama chanda na pete. Hatutaki mgawanyiko wa kura hapa Ukambani (Kalonzo and I are close. We do not want division in Ukambani)," said Raila.

“We as ODM party will talk with Wiper so that we do not divide votes,” he added.

The opposition leader confirmed that he will hold talks with ODM candidate, Mutuku, before the polls.

“We will talk to the ODM candidate so that we support Makau." The former prime minister also drummed up support for Machakos governor candidate Wavinya Ndeti and ODM's Athi River Township MCA hopeful Tyrus Omondi.
