CORD opposition leader, Raila Odinga, has finally broken his silence regarding the whistle blowing incident that was witnessed in the Parliament as the president delivered his speech to the nation
Raila was speaking on Friday during a meeting held at the Orange House. The premier directed his blame to the speaker of the house noting that his decision to silence the ODM law makers might have triggered the demonstrations further. He rebuked speaker Muturi's action to oust the legislators out of the house terming it as being retrogressive as it denied them a prospective avenue to pour out their inner pleas. Raila further expressed his regrets that it was unjust for the speaker to have treated the opposition members in the house as criminals.
He reiterated that Muturi should have accommodated the members by giving them an opportunity to air out their concerns to the August House, indicating that the presence of the commander-in-chief should not have provided him with a reason to ignore the opposition members.
Raila justified the unprecedented action by his members arguing out that it was just the beginning and that the present government lives to the reality that Kenyans are watching them closely.
The ODM parliamentarians had on Thursday afternoon delayed the presidential address to the nation after causing mayhem that disrupted the house business of the day. The house protests forced the speaker to throw out Millie Odhiambo, Gladys Wanga, John Mbadi among other ODM legislators.
