Speaking on Sunday, the former premier stated that opposition members urging him not to retire are speaking as individuals.

Raila said that his main focus is to fix the country by uniting following his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 9.

On Saturday, a section of leaders led by Siaya Senator James Orengo stated that Odinga was too young to retire from politics and he should give a stab at the presidency in 2022.

“Some people are saying Raila should retire, but we firmly believe he has not accomplished his goal and he will not retire from politics anytime soon," Orengo said while speaking in Migori on Saturday.

On his part, Raila who was also in attendance was subtle when speaking about the 2022presidential elections, which he would face off against Deputy President William Ruto - if he chose to run.
