National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has broken his silence over the plan to swear him as the president next week Tuesday.

Some members of the opposition have said they will swear in Raila at the same time President Uhuru Kenyatta is being sworn in.

Speaking on Friday at the Laico Regency, Raila dismissed the reports stating that the Tuesday rally by NASA will be meant to honour those who died in the hands of the police.

“On Tuesday while some people will be celebrating, we will be honoring the lives of people who were killed,” said Raila.

Raila stated that the memorial service will be held at the Jacaranda grounds in Bonholm.

The sentiments by Raila indicates that the planned parallel swearing in will not proceed.

Different leaders have been urging the NASA team to drop their plans for Tuesday.

On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta invited Raila to the swearing in set to take place at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.

All other presidential candidates were also invited.
