People's Assembly rally for Kisii and Nyamira Counties has been cancelled by NASA strategic committee in charge of Raila Odinga's swearing-in.

Although the statement has not been made public, a source who spoke in confidence says the cancellation resulted from inability by the two counties to pass the motion.

"The Sunday's rally at Gusii stadium stands cancelled until communicated otherwise. This is because Kisii and Nyamira are yet to pass the motion," said the ODM lawyer.

Despite NASA's super majority in the two assemblies, the motion is yet to be passed even though it was dispatched to county leadership.

And on Wednesday, Nyamira Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo insisted that the assembly shall pass the motion despite the few remaining days.

"We shall ensure the motion is not only passed but also the electoral justice is restored in Kenya,' he said.

Kisii County ODM Youth Leader Erick Janganya had also earlier on insisted the motion would be passed, an event that is yet to materialise a month down the line.

Raila, who will be sworn-in as People's President, was expected to lead NASA troops in Gusii region, two days to Tuesday's ceremony.
