Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura has expressed his frustrations with the manner in which the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) expelled him.
Speaking Monday shortly after the party's top organ expelled him and nine other legislators for showing dalliance with Jubilee party Mwaura blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga for endorsing his expulsion when he (Raila) had given him his blessing to leave the party.
"This is double standard by Raila. I informed him that my constituents in Ruiru had advised me to vie for the parliamentary seat and I informed it that the only way I could win was to contest on a popular party in the area and that is Jubilee party. He agreed and gave me his blessings but I'm now surprised that he has turned around and endorsed my expulsion from the party," he said.
Mwaura could lose his position if the registrar of political parties approves the disciplinary action against him.
Other MPs who were sent packing by the Orange party include Samuel Arama (Nakuru West), Zainab Chidzuga (Kwale county), Joash Maangi (Kisii deputy governor), John Waluke (Sirisia), Ababu Namwamba (Budalangi), Salim Mvurya (Kwale governor), Masoud Mwahima (Likoni), Steve Kariuki (Mathare), and Samwel Nyangwara (Viwandani MCA).
