The Interior Ministry on Monday said Raila should stop politicizing the country’s security affairs.

Spokesperson to the Ministry Mwenda Njoka, dismissed claims that Nkaissery had threatened chiefs who are working with the opposition.

"We wish to set the record straight that at no time has Nkaissery ever bullied or intimidated chiefs or any other cadre of officers in the national administration structure," Njoka’s statement read in part.

Njoka affirmed that the Interior CS, Joseph Nkaissery was operating within the provisions of the law for the country’s goodwill.

The CORD premier had last week threatened to mobilise Kenyans against paying taxes, remarks that Njoka termed irresponsible.

The ministry called on the opposition chief to let administrators and security agents discharge their duties void of political forces.

The response comes amid heated political activities across the country as Jubilee and opposition leaders charge their supporters to register as voters in the ongoing IEBC voter listing exercise.

President Uhuru Kenyatta last week called on chiefs and the ministry to ensure Kenyans get their identification cards in the shortest time possible for them to register as voters.
