Luhya community leaders led by Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga have urged Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader Raila Odinga to back Musalia Mudavadi's much touted political alliance dubbed National Super Alliance ( NASA).
Speaking to the media on Monday, the governor argued that Nasa is the only political outfit that can send Jubilee Party home in the 2017 general elections.
“I doubt ODM party leader Raila Odinga will agree to join and work with Mudavadi’s National Super Alliance. I would suggest that he joins the ANC leader’s coalition if he wants to see the Jubilee government out of power,” Akaranga said.
“The Mulembe nation will be united if they have one of their own as a strong presidential candidate," he added.
The political alliance would see top opposition leaders unite in a bid to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto from office in the next polls.
Analysts argue that such a political arrangement would see ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi as the Presidential candidate, with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka deputising him.
